Frequently Asked Questions
The Essentials
What should I do before my appointment?
I recommend staying hydrated, eating a full meal, and getting a good night’s rest. Prepare your body and mind with rest and nutrition for a great session. In the days or weeks leading up to your session, exfoliate and moisturize the area getting tattooed. Wear comfortable, loose clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area. Avoid alcohol or blood-thinning medications 24 hours before your session.
How do I book an appointment?
All appointments are booked through my website. Visit the “Book Now” page and follow the steps to choose your date, and session type. Deposits are required to secure your appointment and are deducted from the total cost. Deposits are non-refundable.
Can I walk in for a tattoo?
I offer appointment-based sessions to ensure every client is serviced with my full attention. While I occasionally offer flash or walk-in days, these will always be announced on social media.
The Healing Process
What should I expect during the healing process?
Some tenderness, scabbing and eventually peeling is completely normal. You'll be provided with aftercare instructions to support your healing journey. Always avoid soaking, sun exposure, working out (for 3 days minimum), and touching your tattoo with unclean hands.
Do you offer touch-ups?
Yes. Touch-ups of my work are complimentary and offered anytime. You can schedule via the booking tab.
What products do you recommend for aftercare?
I recommend a fragrance-free, non-petroleum-based product like Aquaphor or unscented water based lotion for moisture (Aveeno is a great formula) & Orange Dial Soap for cleansing.
The Studio Experience
Can I bring a friend?
Due to limited space and the sacred nature of our sessions, I ask that you come alone unless otherwise approved. This ensures peace for both artist and client.
Is your space accessible?
Yes. The studio is ADA-compliant and located on the ground floor. If you have accessibility needs, please let me know in advance so I can support you.
Do you tattoo all skin tones?
Always. I am trained in tattooing all shades.
Aftercare Instructions
1. Leave your clear bandage applied for up to 3 days. It is common for blood and plasma to be secreted from the tattoo site to collect under the bandage, so do not be alarmed.
2. Remove bandage under running warm water. With clean hands, cleanse tattooed area with orange dial soap, (or any non-scented antibacterial soap). Lightly moisturize with Aquaphor or an unscented water based lotion (I recommend Aveeno) . Your tattoo is essentially a new open wound, so treat it as such. Both orange dial soap and Aquaphor can be purchased anywhere with a pharmacy (Walmart, cvs, Walgreens).
Repeat this routine every morning and evening for 5 days. If you work out, implement this routine post work out as well.
After these 5 days, leave your tattoo alone. It will scab, do not peel/pick the scab. It will itch, do not scratch your tattoo.
Tattoos take approximately a month to fully heal. Please reach out via email or text if you have any questions comments or concerns!
